When the garment is for event staff, street promotions or a wet-day activity, what matters is that it is lightweight, easy to wear and reasonably priced. Windbreakers and rain jackets in polyester or technical fabric work well here, with screen printing or transfer for a visible logo on the chest or back.
The typical mistake is ordering a softshell thinking it is waterproof. It will cope with drizzle, but for steady rain a rain jacket is the better choice. If the logo is large or uses several colours, keep to the flat areas shown on the product page and avoid zips, pockets and seams.
