Custom roller banners for your business

Custom roller banners are two-metre retractable displays that go up in a couple of minutes and travel in their carry bag. They are made to order: tell us the size, quantity and date, send us your artwork or logo, and within 24 working hours you will have a quote and mock-up.

Where to place your message over two metres of height

Most roller banners fail for the same reason: the key message is placed too low and ends up hidden by people or inside the base. The rule when setting up the artwork is to keep the lower 15-20 cm free of text, as it disappears into the cassette, and place the headline between 120 and 180 cm high, at the eye line of anyone walking down an aisle. The logo goes at the top, and the contact details or QR code between 90 and 120 cm, at hand height.

The second point is the banner material. A graphic without a blockout layer lets light through and shows whatever is behind it, especially under exhibition spotlights. That is why the usual choice is 440-510 g/m² PVC with blockout, or 210-260 g/m² polyester if you prefer a PVC-free material. If the roller banner is part of a stand, prepare it together with the rest of your event merchandise: the banner, backdrop and team textiles can all come from the same brand artwork.

What you need to tell us for the quote

This roller banner is not in the online catalogue: it is made to order. With these details, we will send you the quote and mock-up within 24 working hours.

  • Size and model: 85 × 200 cm is the standard; if your stand has a free wall, 100, 120 or 150 cm wide. Tell us whether you will be setting it up often so we can choose a basic or reinforced base.
  • Material: PVC banner with blockout or PVC-free polyester fabric.
  • Single or double-sided: two sides if the roller banner will stand in the middle of an aisle or room.
  • Quantity: how many units you need and in which sizes; in large format there is no catalogue minimum quantity and each piece is quoted individually.
  • Artwork or logo: vector PDF at 1:1 or 1:10 scale, with 3 mm bleed, fonts outlined and images at 100-150 ppi at final size. If you only have the logo in PNG or JPG, we will check it.
  • Event date and delivery address: your office, the exhibition venue or the hotel, to one address or several, anywhere in the EU.

How it is made

  1. 1

    Quote and mock-up

Within 24 working hours you receive the quote and mock-up: your artwork placed on the chosen size, with the lower strip that sits inside the base marked. The mock-up is free and you can request changes.

  2. 2

    Approval and payment

You approve the mock-up and pay. Nothing is printed before that point.

  3. 3

    Production

Full-colour digital printing on the chosen banner material, with colour adjusted to get as close as possible to your corporate reference, and fitting the graphic into its base. The usual lead time is two to three weeks from approval; tell us the event date and we will confirm the timing in the quote.

  4. 4

    Delivery

Each roller banner travels in its padded carry bag, with tracking, to your office, the venue or the event hotel, in any EU country.

Typical roller banner mistakes

  • Putting the key message below 90 cm: it ends up behind the counter or behind people walking past.
  • Adding too much text: from three metres away, people read a headline of five or six words, not a paragraph.
  • Using banner material without blockout in front of a spotlight or window: the pole and whatever is behind show through.
  • Printing low-resolution images: a photo that looks fine on the web will pixelate at two metres high.
  • Placing a QR code too small or too low: nobody bends down to scan it.

Where it works and what to pair it with

A roller banner covers three uses: a trade show or conference, where it works alongside the counter and marks your spot from a distance; internal events and company days, as a speaking or photo backdrop; and the office reception, where it can stay up for months with the same graphic. If you repeat activities every quarter, it is worth buying a reinforced base and changing only the banner. For a group photo backdrop, see the custom photocall; to mark the entrance from the street, see our custom flags.

On the same stand you will often have the team's custom lanyards and something visitors can take away from the counter, such as a custom tote bag for brochures and samples. It can all go into the same quote.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Custom roller banners for your business

If yours is not here, write to us. People answer, not an automatic form.

What size is a standard roller banner?

The standard size is 85 × 200 cm, which fits on almost any stand and in a reception area. If you have a free wall, there are widths of 100, 120 and 150 cm with the same height. Bear in mind that the lower 15-20 cm sit inside the base, so they should not contain text.

What format should I send the roller banner design in?

As a vector PDF at 1:1 or 1:10 scale, with 3 mm bleed, fonts outlined and images at 100-150 ppi at final size. If you only have the logo in PNG or JPG, we will review it and tell you whether it will enlarge well enough. Before printing, you will see the mock-up with your artwork on the real size.

What is a blockout banner and why do I need it?

It is a banner with an opaque inner layer that does not let light through. Without it, if there is a spotlight or window behind, the pole and whatever is behind the roller banner will show through. On double-sided models it is essential, so one side does not show through the other.

PVC roller banner or fabric one?

A PVC banner with blockout is the usual choice for intensive use and gives strong colours with digital printing. Polyester fabric weighs less, contains no PVC and is printed by dye sublimation, with a matt finish that does not shine under spotlights.

Can you change just the banner graphic?

Yes, if the base is a standard format and still in good condition. Only the new graphic is printed to the same size and fitted into the base you already have. It is the logical option if you change the message every campaign but keep the same format.

How far in advance should I order a roller banner for a trade show?

The usual lead time is two to three weeks from the moment you approve the mock-up, and the quote with the mock-up reaches you within 24 working hours. Tell us the trade show date when you request it and we will confirm the timing. If the roller banner is going straight to the venue, also bear in mind the goods reception hours for build-up.
